Week 6 - Writing and Speaking Skills

This week I must want to talk about writing and speaking tools that may be used  in the classroom:

  • Debates
In idebate it is possible to find topics for debates. In each topic there is a list of points in favor and against the motion. For example: "terrorism can be justified". Each point has an explanation and a counterpoint. There is also a pie chart showing  voting results before and after the debate.
There are also three sections in the end: Bibliography, Further Reading and External Links and Resources.

I think it may help the students to gather and organize their opinions about the topic being debated and present it orally.

  • Digital Storytelling and Writing
Storytelling is a wonderful tool and should be used more often in the classroom. Clayframes is an app that may be used in classroom to create a stop motion video. They are so much fun! :-)

Talking about storytelling... Who doesn't like Comics? With Make Beliefs Comix students can create their own comics!

Another fun tool is this this SMS generator

I like this tools because they are fun. Students may create their own stories with them, or recreate situations about books or movies.

  • Spelling
I just love online spelling games, they are so addictive! I also like to share them with my friends by WhatsApp (Hey Hadar! You are my game buddy!! xoxoxo) and see who has the best scores!

So I just loved SpellingCity. You can also create your own spelling test, and the test says the word out loud, and also put them in a sentence. I LOVED IT! <3

Yeah! 100%!!!!

I am a nightmare! I can easily send this kind of quiz to my students by WhatsApp. Take care!!!
