Podemos ver em Gênesis 2:10-14 a descrição exata da localização do Gan Éden, o Jardim do Éden.

"A river issues forth from Eden to water the garden, and from there it is divided and becomes four headwater. The name of the first is Pishon, the one that encircles the hole land of Havilah, where the gold is. The gold of that land is good; the bedolach is there, and shoham stone. The name of the second river is Gihon, the one that encircles the whole land of Cush. The name of the third river is Hiddekel, the one that flows toward the east of Assyria; and the fourth river is the Euphrates."

Seria então muito fácil encontrar o Gan Éden: bastaria que nos dirigíssimos até onde se encontram os rios Tigre e Eufrates e de lá seguir as indicações... Mas se fizermos isso, nossa busca será infrutífera!

No entanto, sabemos que a Gan Éden existe, e que localiza-se bem aqui, nesse nosso mundinho, 3rd Rock from the Sun.

A explicação é que o Gan Éden está lá sim, como indica a Torá. Entretanto, assim como o Beco Diagonal em Harry Potter, ele não pode ser visto pelos trouxas, ou seja, pelas pessoas comuns.

Outra questão que podemos solucionar, de forma clara e distinta, é o problema da serpente.

No terceiro Capítulo do Gênesis encontra-se a narrativa de como a serpente convence Eva a comer do fruto da Árvore do Conhecimento. O texto é explícito e nos descreve tal conversa. Depois, Deus amaldiçoa a cobra. Em Gênesis 3:14-15, lemos:

"And God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, accursed are you beyond all the cattle and beyond all beasts of the field; upon your belly shall you go, and dust shall you eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will pound your head, and you will bite his hell."

Enquanto a serpente foi amaldiçoada por seu papel, sendo destinada a "rastejar sobre o próprio ventre e comer pó", não há nenhum registro de Deus erradicando seu poder de fala.

Uma visita ao Instituto Butantan, entretanto, pode convercer-nos de que as serpentes, definitivamente, não travam conversas com serem humanos.

Assim, podemos concluir que Eva foi a primeira ofidioglota, com certeza uma Sonserina!
